Working in the Professional Guide Dog Field for the past 15 years, I started to look at and research ways to improve and influence a dog's overall performance whilst being trained and then when working out in the field.
Through 12 years of experience with competition horses and then working with dogs I have studied different aspects of training methodologies, Holistic training of Guide Dogs, Sensory Enhanced Learning, The Feldenkrais Method (Awareness through Movement), Tellington Touch and Cross Training.
The new techniques were developed so that they can be incorporated into any training program that will help the handler identify and work with the dog's abilities to enhance performance.
Skills to enhance self-confidence, self-control, self-carriage, balance, agility and initiative all contribute to a dogs outlook, behavior, ease and success in whatever job it is doing.
Inspiredk9s was founded in 2010, to share the knowledge to encourage ability, stimulate agility and motivate performance for every dog.
I volunteer for a rescue charity called Hopeful Hearts here in Ottawa, working with special needs dogs, who require help adapting to their new lives and forever homes.
I work out of Ottawa, Canada and internationally as a Behaviour and Performance Consultant Specializing in Working Dogs
